Marcelot
Manon Marcelot graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieur des Arts Appliqués et des Métiers d'Art with a master's degree in design strategy in 2017. She specializes in accessory design and joined several Parisian design offices where she worked as a designer and prototypist in leather goods for French luxury brands. At the same time, she perfected her skills and obtained a CAP in leather goods from the Compagnons du devoir in 2018. Her first personal collection "Cheptel" is selected and presented at the 36th International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Accessories in Hyères in 2021. It determines the starting point for the creation of the brand "Marcelot" in 2022.
Marcelot is a brand of leather accessories that questions the entire sector, from the animal and agricultural origin of the material to its transformation into a responsible luxury product. Having grown up on a farm with grandparents who were farmers, Manon Marcelot is inspired by the rural world and the technical codes of agricultural equipments to transform them into functional and durable everyday accessories. Handcrafted in the designer's workshop in Creuse with bovine leather from dormant stocks, the pieces are edited in very limited and numbered series.
By confronting the world of agriculture with that of luxury, Marcelot proposes a redefinition of the codes. Thus, it is the structure of an entire sector that is questioned, valued, but above all given to see during a time when it is more important than ever to understand and know the origin of our products.
